Human Rights Protection in the Age of the Economic CrisesInternational Journal of Human Rights and Constitutional Studies, on the theme of: In an era of economic crisis the augmenting scarcity of social goods raises one more than questions concerning the ability of social rights to effectively protect the constitutional subjects of globalisation. The main objective of this inaugural issue of

IJHRCS is to critically intervene in the relevant academic dialogue in order to propose and answer the crucial questions that the current ‘default’ of the social state poses. Subject Coverage

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper was not originally copyrighted and if it has been completely re-written).

All papers are refereed through a peer review process. Within this framework, social state and social rights theories, social policies at national and supranational levels, the social policy of the EU, poverty, citizenship and social exclusion as well as the reasons for the current decline of the welfare state will be thoroughly discussed. This inaugural issue is aimed at a vast audience comprising academics and practitioners, students of law, politics and policy makers.
